The North Umpqua Valley

Whether it's the beautiful scenery, the calm rural lifestyle, the right conditions for growing fine grapes, or all three, the Umpqua valley has been attracting wine enthusiasts and entrepreneurs since the 1880s.

With warm dry days balanced with a coastal morning mist, the Umpqua Valley blesses the grapes with color, fragrance, aroma, and texture.

The Riesling, Gewurztraminer and a portion of the Pinot Noir (#115 clone) were planted in 1983 and are dry farmed. The Pinot Gris and 7 acres of the Pinot Noir (wadenswill and pommard clones) were planted in 1998 in the Northern part of our vineyard we call Pace Family Vineyards.

ANINDOR is committed to practices in the vineyard which produce the highest quality wine for our friends and family. To produce quality wine, you need a premier location and sound management practices. We searched for six years to find what we consider the premier location for the varietals we produce. Our goal is to concentrate on quality; cultivate winemaking using minimal intervention in small lots. We feel this philosophy allows development of flavors unique to the vintage and true to the variety.

In 2008, after three years of research (tasting barrels of the different clones of Pinot Noir) 2 acres of Gewurztraminer was graphted to #777 clone of Pinot Noir.  The fruit was dropped this year to prepare the vines for harvest in October of 2009.  This will add a smooth fruit forward ingredient to our future blends of Barrel Select ANINDOR Vineyards Pinot Noir.  Cheers!
